About Allure
Allure designs home decor and jewelry products of unique, handcrafted dichroic glass. Our products are produced in the United States at our picturesque studios in Northern Michigan and Vail Valley Colorado.
These area’s inspiring natural beauty is reflected in the works that our artisans produce.
I am Tera J. Jackson, also known as, Diamond, one of the owners and artisans of Allure. I obtained a BS in Business with a major in Accounting from University of South Florida/Ringling School of Art and Design. After several years in high-end computerized accounting systems made the decision to create on a three dimensional scale. I became a licensed general contractor and founded Diamond Construction.
In the beginning I bought old houses, gutting them often to the studs and rebuilding them to lease and sell. After a few years I moved into commercial construction and eventually specialized in small waterfront projects. I have worked on commercial and condominium construction in the Upper Pennisula and Lower Michigan.
I owned a 91 slip marina with a 28,800 square feet, radiant floor heated boat storage building. After 11 years of additions and improvements I had an unfortunate accident with the 35 ton crane at the marina. We moved to Petoskey in Northern Michigan, where I was raised and graduated from high school.
Once in Northern Michigan and undergoing a rehabilitation program including myofascial release and chiropractic care, I decided to give back and enter the healing arts. I am a massage therapist specializing in chronic pain and deep tissue sports massage and have practiced for six years. She again though longed to create tangible beautiful products that people could touch, feel and enjoy.
I along with my partner, Larry Drost, formed an LLC and began learning the art of making dichroic glass jewelry from a master artisan, Vincent Pernicano. We were naturals and learned quickly how to produce Vincent’s jewelry designs. The original idea was to mass produce and market the dichroic jewelry designs, however, it became apparant that the skills needed to make this fine jewelry were not skills that the average hourly worker could master.
Both of us come from a construction background. The fall of 2008 Ms. Jackson began developing the new idea of making home decor products, starting with knobs and pulls for cabinets and furniture. The idea came to life with a few prototypes. Feedback from architects, designers, builders, gallery owners, artists, moms, dads, men and woman from all backgrounds were gathered. Support and assistance from Rhonda and Mick Franchino of R&M Services, Inc. was invaluable in the production process. In the spring of 2010 we are now able to produce large quantities of our fine, high-end, unique, artistic, knob and pull line.
The home decor product lines will continue to expand. We are currently working on expanding our home decor products and making items that galleries have requested. We welcome you to visit us, email us, or call us if you would like any further information.
